National Rhododendron Gardens

14th October, 2016

Cherry took me to the beautiful National Rhododendron Gardens in the Dandenong Ranges and it became one of my favourite places in Melbourne, around an hour’s drive from the city.

On the way, we stopped for some incredible scones from Miss Marple’s Tea Room.

They’re a bit more like sponge cake than regular scones but man, THEY WERE SO GOOD.

After fuelling up, we headed over to the 10 acre gardens located a short distance from the main town of Olinda.

Although the name-sake flaunts the Rhododendron as its headline act, the 15,000 rhododendrons also  share the stage with over 12,000 azaleas, 3,000 Camellias and 250,000 daffodils; as well as a large ornamental lake and all the greenery.

It would be an amazing spot for a picnic!

Anyway, I’ll shut up and let my photos do the talking…

FOREVER GLAM.

If you’re in Melbourne, I really couldn’t recommend checking out the amazing tearoom and gardens enough!
