Tuesday 25th October, 2016

After a 12 hour overnight journey from Sydney, we arrived in Byron Bay by 11.25 a.m the next morning.

All the hostel reps were there to meet us and drive us over to our accommodation.

We opted for the YHA Hostel which was pretty great and our rep gave us a brief tour of the area during the 5 minute ride.

My only slight complaint would be that the rooms were really dark, which was great for sleeping but  not so great for waking up.

Anyway, after we had had a shower (great power showers, btw) and freshened up, we headed over to the gorgeous Main Beach.

This was our first beach day in Australia and Byron didn’t disappoint!

When we got a bit peckish, we grabbed a couple of delicious sushi rolls just down the road and sat in the sun to devour them.

We had a little wander around the town, grabbed some fro-yo and headed back to the beach.

I know, it’s a hard life but someone’s gotta live it 😉

We left the beach at around 5.30, did some laundry and had dinner at Fishmongers.

The grilled fish salad was insane and super fresh, please promise me you’ll try it if you’re in Byron!

Being the wild party animals that we are, we opted for an early night to catch up on some beauty sleep.

Wednesday 26th October

This was one of my favourite days of our trip up the East Coast.

We woke at 9am to do the Lighthouse Walk.

We absolutely lucked out with the weather and had the best time.

I couldn’t get over how incredibly beautiful the sea looked, it was unreal.

Clarkes Beach.

Wategos Beach.

Unexpected victory.

It’s pretty windy at the most easterly point of the Australian mainland.

We found the lighthouse!

Little Wategos Beach.

I loved this walk so, so much.

When we got back into town, we grabbed some bloody amazing tacos from Chihuahua

After lunch, we wandered around the shops, booked our trips to Fraser Island and the Whitsundays at the Greyhound Travel Agents and had dinner at an awesome, cheap Thai restaurant that our travel rep recommended.

Just FYI, Success Thai is amazing!

We did a mini food shop at Woolies after dinner and chilled at the hostel for a few hours before heading to Woody’s to throw some epic shapes

Thursday 27th October

On our final full day in Byron Bay (such a poet), we did a spot of shopping and grabbed lunch at the 24 hour bakery.

I know what you’re all thinking – is this Heaven or real life?!

Unfortunately my beef and veg pasty sucked but they did make up for it the next morning when I got a chicken and mushroom pie for the 8am coach journey to our next destination.

We spent the day in the sun, chilling by the pool at our hostel, booking all of our accommodation for the rest of the trip, wrote and sent postcards to loved ones, had another lush dinner at Thai Success (because we are all about that cheap and delicious life), did another mini food shop at Woolies, caught up on some reading at the hostel, packed and got ready for our early coach trip the next morning to the Gold Coast!

See you there 😉
