Hello again, you gorgeous creatures!
It’s almost a year later but I’m finally unemployed so hopefully these blog posts will get written up before I turn 86.
So yeah, our second day in Brisbane started with a visit to my favourite art gallery in Australia: Queensland Art Gallery.
This is the first art gallery that I’ve ever been to that had water features and I loved it.
Here are a few of my highlights – I’ll let the pictures do the talking 😉
Tash got a sneaky one of me admiring all these gorgeous paintings.
After the museum, we sat in the courtyard to book flights and do some general life admin (very riveting stuff) before devouring sushi rolls, udon and gyoza at Noodle and Donburi.
Tash sunbathed by the river after lunch whereas I went to check out the Modern Art Museum. Unfortunately there were a lot of new exhibitions being installed so there wasn’t much to see but I took a few snaps anyway.
The view from the top floor.
Once I’d had my fill of modern art, I headed over to the Library Café and wrote some postcards and read in the sunshine with a vanilla and cranberry tea – bliss.
Tash and I were reunited at 5pm to make the most of our 2 for 1 gelato voucher at Gelatissimo.
We took our gelato choices very seriously and did some very thorough analysis by trying as many flavours as socially acceptable.
I went for Ferreror Rocher and Lemon Cheesecake, just fyi.
After our gelato party, we chilled in Starbucks for a bit before meandering down to the North Quay for a free ferry cruise along Brisbane Harbour.
(Snapchat stickers really bring an experience from an 8 to a solid 9.5)
We weren’t really sure where to get off but we ended up on Rotherham Street and enjoyed a nice half hour walk back to our hostel along Story Bridge which was lit up all purple and I loved it!
Upon our grand return to Fortitude Valley, we grabbed some Thai food in Chinatown before calling it a day.
See you for day 3 very soon 😉
