WHAT I WATCHED IN FEBRUARY

FILMS

1. KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE (2017)

2H21 | ACTION, ADVENTURE, COMEDY

When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, the Kingsman’s journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organization in the US. These two elite secret organizations must band together to defeat a common enemy.

I loved the first Kingsman film and the sequel didn’t disappoint. A clever, funny and entertaining watch – I’d thoroughly recommend it!

Rating: 4/5

2. THE WOLF OF WALL STREET (2013)

3H | BIOGRAPHY, COMEDY, CRIME

Based on the true story of Jordan Belfort, from his rise to a wealthy stock-broker living the high life to his fall involving crime, corruption and the federal government.

This is my second time watching this film and it’s still one of my favourites. I love how fast paced and easy to watch it is. Usually, I find it hard to focus on films longer than 2 hours but I don’t even notice how long the film is as it keeps you hooked throughout. Leo did a superb job and Margot Robbie is also incredible and out of this world beautiful.

Rating: 5/5

NETFLIX SERIES

1.THE SINNER

8 EPISODES | 1HR | DRAMA, MYSTERY, THRILLER

A young mother tries to find out what’s causing her to have violent tendencies.

I was hooked from the first episode. It’s interesting that they’ve gone from showing you the crime and who committed it and working out why it happened rather than going through the typical route of murder investigation. I binged this is 2 nights. Loved it and Jessica Biel is great!

Rating: 5/5

2. MINDHUNTER

20 EPISODES | 1HR | CRIME, DRAMA, THRILLER

In the late 1970s two FBI agents expand criminal science by delving into the psychology of murder and getting uneasily close to all-too-real monsters.

I loved the idea of the series but it didn’t have me hooked in the same way as The Sinner. I liked it but I think there was something missing for me, maybe some flashback scenes involving the criminals?

Rating: 3/5

3. CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND

44 EPISODES | 42 MIN | COMEDY, MUSICAL

A young woman abandons a choice job at a law firm and her life in New York in an attempt to find happiness in the unlikely locale of West Covina, California.

My girl, Nikki, introduced me to this series and at first, I wasn’t convinced as I’m not a big fan of musicals but the show is hilarious and although the main character is a bit annoying, she’s also endearing. The songs are really funny and done in a variety of different styles and it’s perfect for the days where you just fancy something light and cheery!

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a decent trailer for it so here’s the theme song so you can get an idea of what it’s all about.

Rating: 4.5/5

4. QUEER EYE

8 EPISODES | 45MIN | REALITY-TV

A new Fab Five set out to Atlanta to help the city’s straight men refine their wardrobes, grooming, diet, cultural pursuits, and home décor.

I remember watching the original series forever ago and I really liked the new version. Another excellent, feel-good recommendation from Nikki. Jonathan is so sassy and has so many incredible quotes and I’m a little bit in love with Antoni and I want to be his bff.

Rating: 4/5
