As I started this blog towards the end of 2016, I realised that all of the brilliant photos from my first trip to Japan were on my old blog.
So I wanted to pop a few of my favourites from the 9 days that I spent there way back in April, 2015 during cherry blossom season!
Grabbing sushi on the evening of arrival in Namba, Osaka.
The view from the hotel room.
Dotonbori, the busiest area with the iconic big crab restaurants.
Shinsekai, the neighbourhood that was created in 1912 with New York as a model for its southern half and Paris for its northern half.
I remember getting to the top and the photographer was the loudest and most enthusiastic I’d ever seen/heard!
Stumbled across a cute little restaurant in Amerikamura.
Beautiful Nara with an abundance of deer.
The ones of the outskirts are cute and timid but the ones on the main green who are used to tourists will nip and chase you for food!
Dotonbori by night.
Kyoto: not the kind of place where you can just wing it as the attractions are all quite far apart so definitely make a detailed plan before you go!
Missed the last train back to Osaka so had to take a taxi back.
But here’s a cool pic of me cooking some noodles on a hot plate:
Kuromon Market in Nipponbashi was one of the highlights of my trip as the food was so delicious and it was fascinating to see the market sellers at work.
I loved scallop sashimi so much! <3
Umeda Sky Building.
Made it to the top and then we took a bullet train to Tokyo!
This is my favourite photo from the trip.
The bright lights of Shinjuku.
The beautiful and peaceful Meiji Shrine.
I also loved this photo taken at the Sunshine Aquarium.
The final morning was spent in the beautiful Shinjuku Gyoen Park.
