Monday 10th April
Karman and I grabbed the 9.15am train and arrived in Edinburgh by 10.05am.
We wandered down the Royal Mile which is filled with a mix of souvenir, cashmere, jewellery and fudge shops.
On our way towards Holyrood Park, we came across the Museum of Edinburgh which had an interesting exhibition about immigration on but otherwise, if you’re in Edinburgh for a short period of time, I’d give it a miss.

Karman recommended hog burgers for lunch at Oink and it was incredible.
So juicy, full of flavour and a great cheap lunch option – would highly recommend!
Learning about Greyfriars Bobby and Greyfriars Kirkyard, the graveyard which inspired J.K. Rowling’s writing with gravestones such as Tom Riddle, McGonagall and the Potters.

Tuesday 11th April
Starting off my second (and final) day in Edinburgh by heading to the top of Calton Hill.
Karman convinced me to climb up the Pantheon and I had minor breakdown trying to get down as it was so high and windy, but at least she took a cool photo of me pre-breakdown…

After recharging a little at Starbucks, we headed over to Bonnie & Wild, a lovely food hall in the shopping centre opposite the coach station for dinner.
Finally, Karman and I said our goodbyes and I headed on the overnight coach at 9.30pm to make my way back to London.
I loved Edinburgh with its gorgeous views, excellent free galleries and delicious food. As to be expected, it’s much more touristy than Glasgow but I’d love to go back to explore both cities a bit more.
This was such an excellent taster of Scotland and a huge thank you to Karman for making my trip so much fun – you truly were the best tour-guide, host and pal!
